My Story

A Childhood Escape

Growing up with five sisters and one brother, I found solitude in sketching—trees, driftwood, my hands, and anything nearby. In high school, I sketched “the man of my dreams.” At thirty-six, I married that very man.

Art Put on Hold

High school introduced me to the foundations of art, fueling my creativity. But after graduation, my parents insisted art wouldn’t sustain me, so I set it aside and pursued another career.

A Vision Rekindled

In 2019, during meditation, I had a vision that led me back to painting after 46 years. Since then, I’ve studied under various online artists, with Andrew Tischler as my most inspiring mentor. You can find him at https://tisch.academy.

Inspiration from Nature

My art is deeply influenced by meditation, childhood memories of the ocean, and life in the mountains. Every piece is a labor of love, often sparked by a vision that appears while walking in nature—gifts from my Divine Creator.

My Painting Process

  • Sketch & Reference

I begin with a sketch and print photos of my subject.

  • Building the Base

I start with the sky and block in the rough layout.

  • Layering Depth

I paint the background first, then move forward.

  • Refining Shadows & Details

    Adjusting contrast and refining details.

  • Final Highlights & Balance

Ensuring shadows and highlights feel natural.
